Worship Leadership Team

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ.  Our worship must set the atmosphere and pave the way for the congregation to receive the Word and ultimately to be set free!

 

 

 

Pastor – Chris Black

Pastor Black is a life long resident of Lafayette.  He has served in many capacities in church and also as Indiana’s District Youth Director.  Chris felt God tug at his heart at the age of 18 years old and the call into the ministry at the age of 22 years old.  He knows the freedom from addictions and it is evident in his preaching.  He has a passion for lives to be changed by the Power of God.  Chris along with his wife, Stefanie, have been Pastors since July of 2013.  They have been married for over 25 years and have three children, Josh, Jordan & Rachel.  It is their desire to minister to everyone, no matter their age. God calls us individually and at different ages of life.

 

Youth Pastor – Nate Thomas

Nate has been the Youth Leader since 2011.  Even though he has not been in the ministry long, he has plenty of experience working with youth.  He has gained experience as a Coach, High School Counselor, and is currently a College Academic Advisor. Nate knows the pressures our teens face and is familiar with youth culture.  He knows we are competing for our teens with all types of entertainment and wants to lead our youth to Christ.

 

 

Junior Church Leader – Linda Laster

Linda has over 40 years experience in Junior Church Ministry.  She has been a life long resident.  She has a burden and a love to work with children.  Linda is always praying for the children and requesting prayer for them as they go to school.  Linda is a retiree from Purdue University.  Even though she has retired, working with juniors helps keep “Grandma Linda” (as the kids call her) YOUNG at HEART!

 

 

 

Sports Director – Terry VanHoosier

Terry grew up in the Pentecostal Church of God and has been involved in sports most of his life.  He has coached adult softball and children’s baseball for many years.  He has a heart for others and a heart for sports.  Sports Ministry provides excellent opportunities to edify the body through fellowship and to evangelize the community through outreach programs.
